Vista Crossing

Overview
Vista Crossing is a residential community located in Crossfield, Alberta, designed as part of a larger portfolio of developments by Dream Homes. To help promote the neighborhood and provide essential resources for prospective buyers and residents, we created a dedicated community website tailored to showcase the area's amenities, homes, and lifestyle in a clean, engaging format.
Challenge
As a newly developed community, Vista Crossing needed a digital presence that could support both marketing and resident communication. The website had to reflect the brand identity of Dream Homes while functioning within a larger ecosystem of property sites. It needed to be easy for non-technical stakeholders to manage, while also supporting future growth—including the ability to accommodate multiple developments under a single system.
Solution
Working in a small, agile team, we delivered a modern, fully responsive website built using WordPress for content management and Laravel (PHP) for backend logic and custom functionality. The site utilized jQuery and Sass for a dynamic, styled front-end, and MySQL for data management. We hosted the entire platform on AWS for scalability and performance. The system was designed with multi-tenant support, enabling Dream Homes to manage multiple community sites through a shared backend structure; streamlining content updates while preserving flexibility for each unique development.
Key Takeaways
This was my first major project working with both Laravel and WordPress in tandem, giving me valuable experience integrating traditional CMS tools with modern backend frameworks. Architecting the platform to support multi-tenant functionality introduced me to the complexities of managing shared resources across multiple domains, which strengthened my understanding of scalable web architecture and reusable infrastructure.
